Dr. Karen Thompson, D.V.M.
Dr. Karen Thompson is returning home after owning and operating Unicoi Hospital for Animals In Erwin, Tennessee for 17 years. After graduating from Bullitt Central in 1982, she received her Bachelors Degree in Agriculture and Biology in 1986 from Berea College.
Dr. Thompson then completed her Masters in Physiology and Pharmacology at Auburn University in 1990 - and then obtained her D.V.M. in 1991 from Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine.
In 1994, Dr. Thompson happily helped Unicoi County achieve a much needed Animal Shelter by working to establish it’s Humane Society. She also proudly served on the first Executive Board to establish the Tri-Cities Airport Pet Emergency Clinic.
Dr. Thompson has balanced being a mom to her three daughters and being East Tennessee Representative on the TVMA. In 2006, she became the first veterinarian to serve as Director of the Annual Music City Veterinary Conference in Nashville.
Dr. Karen Thompson is thrilled to be back home near family and friends, and welcomes the opportunity to help Keep Our Pets Happy - and Healthy for Years to Come .
